TESTIMONIALS
Michelle Lucas
Congratulations to Michelle Lucas who was successful in winning Information Technology Faculty Student of the Year in 2007.
Michelle studied 19007 Website Design and showed a very high standard of work throughout the 12-month course. She developed a range of web sites and in particular a major project promoting the music of a sound engineer at www.holotropik.com. This site uses streaming video, audio and other web technologies including Web 2.0 to add value to the site.
Michelle was a strong student both creatively and technically. Her attention to detail and enthusiasm for web design quickly led her into employment in the industry with a local web designer.
She is currently working in Newcastle for Izilla – Web Design, Development & CMS as a Front End Developer.

Diploma Systems Administration 2004
I have been self employed for 5 1/2 years operating an IT consultancy, PC Computer Services. During that time, my personal & business profile has been raised by speaking at a number of seminars.
At the conclusion of TAFE studies, I was offered a short term position on the IT Help Desk for the North Coast Institute of TAFE. The year after my studies concluded, I was invited back as a part time IT teacher.
I have recently secured a permanent full time position as IT Support Officer for a large credit union, following a contract position as Network Administrator.
My successful completion of two IT courses at TAFE has heightened my business credibility and has paved the way for all subsequent positions.

Diploma Information Technology 1997
I started my Certificate III course upon completion of my HSC in 1996 and I went on to do my Level IV Certificate, before deciding to complete my Diploma in 1997.
After finishing my Diploma I moved to Sydney to pursue my career in Information Technology and during my time there I worked for several large organisations including Qantas IT, Compaq, Mckinsey and Co, Shiseido, Tyco Health Care and Sydney City Council.
After 9 years of working both full time and consulting in and around Sydney CBD, I decided to move back to Port Macquarie to start a family. I have been incredibly lucky to continue my career working for Joyer Consulting managing the IT infrastructure division. Joyer offers the same level of corporate IT experience and opportunity’s which I was use to in Sydney, but with the lifestyle and benefits of living on the Coast.
Without my Diploma and TAFE training, I feel I wouldn’t have had the same confidence in myself or my abilities to go out and get that first start into the IT industry.

Certificate IV Website Design 2006
The TAFE Certificate IV in Web Design was one of the best things I’ve done. It taught me things that every web designer should know, and has given me invaluable skills. My teachers had real-world experience and were extremely knowledgeable in their fields of expertise. Since completing the certificate, I have enrolled in the Bachelor of Computer Science at Macquarie University in Sydney.
